The Gardner School announces opening of preschool

Known as The Princeton of Preschools, the Gardner School will be located at 6145 Emerald Parkway in Dublin, just north of the post office. Construction is scheduled to be completed prior to the beginning of June.

The Gardner School is an academ-ically focused preschool offering early childhood programs for children ranging in ages from six weeks through private kindergarten. They employ highly educated and degreed teachers, in addition to providing extensive staff training. Each teacher is carefully selected based on their educational background, previous teaching experience, their love of children, and their ability to bond and communicate effectively as teachers.

They also offer enrichment classes in addition to the comprehensive daily curriculum. These programs include semi-private lessons in computers, foreign language, dance, gymnastics, music and drama. The enrichment staff members are specially trained in their specific program and teach the classes in a state-of-the-art dedicated enrichment room.

The school provides a healthy eating menu, which features items such as broccoli and cheese frittatas, spinach quiche, tossed salads, grilled chicken and more. Snacks include yogurt, string cheese and fresh fruit.

The Gardner School currently has two locations in middle Tennessee and a location in Louisville, Kentucky, that quickly reached capacity and now have extensive waiting lists.

"We have been so pleased with the response to our unique schools in Nashville and Louisville and have been eager to offer this educational experience to families in Dublin as well," said Scott Thompson, chief executive officer. "We are absolutely focused on providing young children an enriched educational experience, which allows them to learn to their full potential in a creative and academically successful environment."

The Gardner School was voted the number one childcare provider in 2005, 2006 and 2007 by Nashville Parent Magazine. For more information, call (614) 717-9677, or visit them online at www.TheGardnerSchool.com.

Events during the weekend will include creating fairy wings at the Pomerene Center, building fairy houses in the woodlands at Clary Gardens, watching a movie outdoors, and roasting marshmallows over a campfire while listening to live children's folk music by Sarah Goslee Reed. Parents will have time for shopping on Saturday morning while the kids are creating their fairy wings. The weekend will also include breakfast at Serenity Teahouse, lunch on the Pomerene Center lawn and dinner on the Old Warehouse terrace in historic Roscoe Village.
